Big Society & Equalities:
Voice4Change England and the Women’s Resource Centre have come together to produce a report that considers the notion of ‘Big Society’ underpinned by a vision of a more empowered and engaged civil society while taking on board the current social context of greater resource cuts for VCOs and economic restraint.
One important question currently being asked about the initiative is, ‘Is the government really keen to create a diversity of providers?'
We need to have a discussion about the model of choice and competition that is being put forward by Government. . Big Society & Equalities: The Big Picture takes up the debate directly. The report sets out a number of clear practical steps to show how Big Society could potentially benefit specialist provision and create a vibrant voluntary and community sector ready to meet the challenges of the future..
