Fit as a Fiddle

Sporting Equals has recently partnered up with Age UK to deliver its National Fit as a Fiddle programme which aims to help empower older people to live more healthy, active and fulfilling lives. Sporting Equals will be delivering the faith and Community Strand which will involve building the capacity of volunteers and organisations to support older people in community and faith based settings, ensure agencies are responsive to cultural and religious sensitivities while maintaining an focus on physical activity, nutrition and mental well being.

The project will involve free training delivered by Sporting Equals to community based organisations and volunteers to enable them to work with BME older people to become fit and active.

As part of the project we are currently undertaking a mapping exercise to assist us with regional linkages required to deliver this project.

If you are a community based organisation worked with BME older people in any capacity or know organisations who work with BME older people can you please complete the attached form and return to Lorna Babb by the 12 January 2010.
