The British Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) has brought together a group of leading organisations, including Voice4Change England, representing many sectors of civil society to call on political party leaders to protect the Human Rights Act.

In an open letter to the political party leaders, to mark international Human Rights Day on 10 December, 43 organisations have collectively come together to speak with one voice to express disappointment that the Human Rights Act is all too often vilified, and to call for leadership from our political leaders on the Human Rights Act.

Asian People's Disability AllianceAsian People Disability Alliance (APDA) cordially invite you to their celebration of the 2011 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

‘Fair, Equal and Inclusive – what is the future for race equality?’
New V4CE Trustee Board

Voice4Change England (V4CE) announce the results of their first Trustee elections this week, as four well respected figures from the voluntary and community sector (VCS) step up and take their place on the new Board. Elections were held at the V4CE Inaugural AGM, held on 26th October, which they used to stage a debate on the future of race equality, asking ‘Fair, Equal and Inclusive – what is the future for race equality?’

Fair, Equal, Inclusive: Impact Report 2011

Our Inaugural AGM, held on the 26th October, saw the launch of Voice4Change England’s (V4CE) first Impact Report for the year 2011.

The new publication presents the journey of V4CE for the first time, from their birth as a loose partnership of BME voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) to a new charity in their own right and the first national BME-led membership body in England. For their four years of operation, it describes the outcomes and impact achieved.

Policy Activism: The role of small and medium sized health charities

A collaboration of BHA, Naz Project London, Positive East and Positively UK is hosting a 'by invitation only' roundtable on policy activism for small and medium sized health charities on 23 November 2011 at BHA in Manchester. The roundtable will explore how small and medium sized charities can most effectively use and target their limited policy activism capacity, e.g., who is the most effective group to work with and/or to target? The discussion will draw on the experience of participants working with vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.
